Early Intervention

Early Intervention sessions are designed to feel like play, not therapy. Services are built around everyday activities your child already enjoys, such as playing with toys, reading books, singing songs, or sharing snacks. The goal is to support communication and development in ways that feel natural and stress-free.

During sessions, the therapist may model simple strategies like following your child’s lead, waiting for your child to communicate, using gestures and words together, or turning routines into learning moments. For example, stacking blocks can support turn-taking and requesting, singing songs can encourage sound imitation and word use, and snack time can build early communication through choices and gestures.

Caregivers are an essential part of Early Intervention. You will be supported with practical strategies you can use throughout the day during playtime, meals, bath time, and transitions. By embedding learning into daily routines, Early Intervention helps children build skills while strengthening caregiver confidence and connection.

Early Intervention may support your child if you notice:

  • Limited sounds, gestures, or words for their age

  • Fewer attempts to communicate wants or needs

  • Difficulty understanding simple words or directions

  • Limited eye contact or shared attention during play

  • Frustration or tantrums related to communication

  • Delayed play skills or limited interest in toys

  • Difficulty feeding, chewing, or transitioning to textures

  • Limited imitation of sounds, actions, or gestures

  • Reduced social interaction with caregivers or others

  • Concerns about overall communication development
